POTUS opened by acknowledging Lindsay Graham, saying the late senator was looking down on them.
Rough notes:
“Lindsay’s looking down. He said, ‘I'd love to be here, but just didn't work out.’”
Of the Grahams’ relationship:
“He considered her the greatest person he's ever known. He told me that many times, and honestly, I was quite insulted. I said, ‘What about me? I'm the president.’”
“I've seen brothers and sisters don’t get along so well. This was different.”
“He was a great politician, and she's got the gene. She's already got one of the biggest bills passed.”
POTUS criticized Roy Cooper’s crime record, referring to Willie Horton.
POTUS underscored the GDP report, and scrutinized the Federal Reserve for not decreasing interest rates.
POTUS responded to a man telling him he loved him.
“He's a guy, but I love him.”
“He's a good-looking guy, but we like him anyway.”
“Never been my thing. I don't know why, but it's all right.”
POTUS reflected on asking Graham to run.
“I got you into this thing.”
“Let's make Lindsay really happy and proud.”
There was a protester but it was hard to discern what it was saying.
Trump responded:
“All trained, paid. They don't do a good job, but they always hit me right at the punchline. I'm saying, ‘Early voting in South Carolina is underway…’”
“Some dope, sloppy, sloppy-looking guy.”
Trump also attacked Abdul El Sayed and James Talarico.
“If you're black, or if you're Jewish, and if you vote for Abdul, you're crazy.”
