Pool report #16 / palace arrival

Motorcade passed buildings lit up in red and white, and one that had the American flag lit onto the whole building.

It also passed right by a brightly-lit Lusail Stadium, built for the 2022 World Cup and where the final featured an epic match in which Argentina defeated France on penalty kicks to secure Lionel Messi’s place as the greatest of all time.

Leading into Lusail Palace was a drive lined with palm trees and US and Qatari flags, with about two dozen camels grouped all together, and then horses spread out along the driveway.
