Trump and Putin walked on stage at 2:53 p.m. and stood behind their respective lecterns. Putin spoke first.
The event is being live-streamed on the White House website, C-SPAN and the other usual places.
There are two lecterns on the stage and a backdrop that says “Pursuing Peace.” On either side of the stage there are Russian and American flags. Listening devices for translations were placed on seats when reporters arrived to sit down.
