The below is attributable to U.S. Department of State’s Principal Deputy Spokesperson, Tommy Pigott:
President Donald J. Trump and Secretary Rubio met with Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu, Minister in Charge of Abduction Issues Kihara Minoru, and family members of the Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea. They reaffirmed U.S. support for Japan in achieving an immediate resolution of the abductions issue. The Secretary also thanked the delegation, particularly family members of the abductees, for their continued advocacy on behalf of their loved ones and for sharing their stories.
