The press pool was brought into the East Room at 7;45 PM , which had been arranged with long tables along both sides and down the center. The head table was positioned at the far end, where the President, the First Lady, the Vice President, the Crown Prince, and Mrs. Usha Vance were seated. The tables were decorated with white flowers, white roses, and candlelight.
Among the guests spotted were Elon Musk and Cristiano Ronaldo with his wife, Georgina, who arrived slightly late and took their seats. Moments later, music signaled the arrival of the President and the Crown Prince. As they entered, the guests rose. President Trump spoke first, welcoming the Crown Prince and delivering brief remarks. The Crown Prince then spoke off the cuff, offering a short statement of his own.
Highlights included President Trump’s announcement that Saudi Arabia is now designated a major non-NATO ally, and a joint statement from both leaders that Saudi Arabia is committed to investing one trillion dollars in the U.S. economy. The Crown Prince closed with a lighthearted joke, noting that many had bet he would wear a black tuxedo—they lost, he said—but perhaps next time. He wore traditional Saudi attire.
More details: The Crown Prince thanked the President for the warm welcome and highlighted the nearly 90-year U.S.–Saudi partnership, rooted in the historic Roosevelt–King Abdulaziz meeting.
He noted both nations’ upcoming milestone anniversaries and emphasized decades of cooperation—from World War II to countering extremism—alongside growing economic ties.
He described today as a special moment with major new agreements that expand the scope of economic cooperation, stressing the need to focus on implementation and seizing new opportunities.
The press pool was asked to leave after the Crown Prince concluded his remarks. The event included numerous lawmakers, business leaders, and CEOs of major companies like Apple and Nvidia , Pool was escorted out at 8:04 PM .
