Travel pool report #6 — Calls to children

The event is being live-streamed by the White House. Pool walked into the room at 4:40pm.

President Trump and the First Lady were seated in gold armchairs on either side of a Christmas tree and began answering calls on landlines. The president is wearing a dark blue suit and yellow tie, and the First Lady is in a black dress with white lace detailing on the sleeve.

POTUS, talking to the first child, from Oklahoma, said they had to make sure a bad Santa hadn’t “infiltrated” the country — he then assured the child that Santa was good.

He also told them the state was “very good to him during the election” adding “don’t ever leave Oklahoma.”

“Nice setup,” Trump told the press in the room about the calls.

He asked another child what she wanted and she responded “not coal,” prompting Trump to joke that coal was “clean, beautiful.”

They are still taking calls. Santa is currently flying over Sweden, according to NORAD.
