VP Pool Report #2 wheels down Armenia

Air Force Two was wheels up from Milan at 10:22 a.m. There were no visitors to the press area during the flight.

About an hour into the flight, the pool spotted Vivek and Mirabel visiting and playing with some of the staff in the cabin. At one point in the flight, the VP was seen approaching the staff area to briefly check on Mirabel.

AF2 flew over a snow-covered mountain range and wide, flat expanses of undisturbed snow for much of the descent. Snow was in the distance by the time we touched down at Zvartnots International Airport at 5:04 p.m. local time. (+9 from Washington)

A red carpet topped with a smaller red and gold carpet were rolled out for Vance. Theresa were eight honor guard members along the carpet.

The delegation to meet the VP included the following, per a spokesman for the vice president:

Mr. Gagik Vanoyan, Chief of Protocol, Armenia

H.E. Alen Simonyan, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia

H.E. Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport

H.E. Tigran Avinyan, Mayor of Yerevan

H.E. Vahan Kostanyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia

H.E. Narek Mkrtchyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United States

David Allen, Chargé d’Affaires, ad interim of the U.S. Mission in Armenia

Vance deplaned at 5:26 p.m., waving at the top of the stairs. He was wearing a navy blue suit and navy tie. Usha Vance was wearing a navy pantsuit. Theresa kids led them down the stairs.

Usha Vance was handed a bouquet of flowers. He shook hands with the greeters.

Vance got in his suburban at 5:27 p.m. Motorcade started rolling directly to the meeting with Pashinyan at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is at the Presidential Palace and is closed press.
