The remarks to press were in a large, cream-colored hall at the presidential palace. Armenian media and delegation sat on the right and Americans on the left.
I believe it was streamed live but some notes below:
The delegations from the bilat were seated in the front row. There were two white podiums at the front of the room and an array of Armenian and American flags.
The VP and Pashinyan entered at 7:16 p.m.
They walked in and stood behind two chairs positioned behind a table.
They signed a joint statement on peaceful nuclear declaration between their two nations, according to an Armenian announcer. The VP’s office has not provided details or text of the agreement yet, but Vance said later that they have completed negotiations on a 123 civil nuclear agreement.
Both leaders signed the declaration and held up the signed copies.
They then moved to their respective podiums for remarks.
Pashinyan went first, again speaking in Armenian. He called it a visit of “truly historic and symbolic importance" and said he has “great hope” that Trump will “rightfully” receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 2026. He said he has reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to the U.S’s peace efforts, including the Board of Peace. He said he has “gladly” accepted Trump’s invitation to the board’s first meeting this month. He also provided updates on the deal signed with Azerbaijan and efforts to extract rare earths and critical minerals.
On the joint statement they signed regarding peaceful nuclear declaration:
“This agreement will open a new chapter in the deepening energy partnership between Armenia and the United States,” he said. “
Vance started at 7:27 p.m. He described some of the joint efforts that both countries are working on, including the TRIPP and civil nuclear agreement. He announced $11M in drone technology that the U.S. will be selling to Armenia. He says he saw the technology a few minutes earlier.
“What President Trump and the prime minster have accomplished together is really visionary,” Vance said. “Peace is not made by cautious people.”
“We’re not just making peace for Armenia. We're also creating real prosperity for Armenia and the United States together,” he said.
They then took questions on Iran, the TRIPP project and the relations between their countries. Event is ongoing.
