In-town pool #7 - Carson-Presidential Medal of Freedom

At the start of the reception, President Trump brought to the stage his Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner and Dr. Ben Carson, who led HUD during Trump’s first term.

The president said he would soon award Carson with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. “Ben, I’ll be seeing you back here pretty soon.”

POTUS then brought to the stage Justice Department official Leo Terrell, who called Trump “the greatest president of our lifetime.” As Terrell finished his brief remarks, there were chants of “four more years!”

Trump then brought to the stage Alice Johnson, whom the president pardoned in 2020 and now serves as his pardon czar. Johnson told the audience that she fell in love with the president’s “heart for this country.” She said the president “hears you, this president cares for you” and to not let anyone say he’s not for Black America.

Trump then spotted Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent and asked him how the economy was doing. “The best,” Bessent said. Trump suggested that he would talk about the strength of the economy in next week’s State of the Union address.
