POTUS said the “objectives” were “clear “ - to destroy Iran’s missile capabilities , “annihilating” the Navy , preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons and stopping it from arming terrorist groups around the country .

He expressed grief for the 4 US troops killed so far in action and pledged “unyielding resolve” to crush the threat from the regime . He added that the US had projected 4 to 5 weeks for the operation but said the US had the “capability” to go longer than that .
