VP Pool Report #4- Dignified transfer

VP Vance walked out for the dignified transfer of Sgt. Benjamin Pennington at 8:53pm.
The dignified transfer started at 8:54pm when the carry team emerged from behind the transfer vehicle.
The VP was joined by Sec. Pete Hegseth and Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, in a line between the C-17 and transfer vehicle.
They moved to stand at the bottom of the C-17, with their heads bowed. They returned to their line and stood at attention as the transfer case was carried from the C-17 to the transfer vehicle. Doors to the transfer vehicle were closed at 9:01pm.
After the transfer vehicle departed, Vance, Hegseth and Caine walked off. Vance shook hands with Caine and walked behind motorcade vehicles with Hegseth.
The flight line dismissed call marked the conclusion of the solemn event, following the departure of the family.
Pool did not see the VP board AF2.
