In-town pool report #7: Mullin sworn in. Ceremony highlights

Attorney General Pam Bondi administered the oath to Markwayne Mullin, starting at 2:20pm and finishing a minute later.

President Trump praised Markwayne Mullin's business and political record. He talked about what he said was Democrats’ desire to keep open borders.

"I see the midterms are close. I don't know what close means," he said, saying he doesn't understand how people can vote for Democrats. Referenced trans women in women's sports.

He declared his desire to deport immigrants with a criminal record. Says he cleaned up DC. Secured the border.

Mentions his father was born "a little bit after" 1900. Murders were the lowest last year since 1900, he says.

Iran:

"The military is great. We're having, by the way, a tremendous success, as you know, Iran. We had one in Venezuela. Now having one in Iran. They have no navy left. They have no air force left. They have no anti aircraft equipment left, no radar left, no leaders left. The leaders are all gone. Nobody knows who to talk to, but we're actually talking to the right people, and they want to make a deal so badly."
