In-town pool report #11: More on Rose Garden granite, plus DeSantis

With tremendous thanks to the excellent and undaunted CBS News team of Ed O'Keefe and Jennifer Jacobs, here's the exact exchange about the Rose Garden, which took place in a scrum after the formal event was over.

Q from CBS/Ed: What are you doing with the granite outside?

Trump: “It’s a great contrast. The white, with the black. The black is going to be on the walkway. It’s going to be clean. The thing I do best. It’s going to be beautiful. It’s a beautiful, black granite. Polished granite for the areas you don’t walk on, because when you walk on it, it’s [scuffed].”

Q: Who’s going to pay for it?

“Uh, paid for by, [Long pause as he looks over an aide] me.”

Q from Spectrum News: Do you foresee a role for Ron DeSantis in the administration once he’s done serving as governor?

Trump: “I don’t know but I’d certainly consider it. I think he’s good, doing a good job.”
