VP’s motorcade pulled up to AF2 at 21CEST.

The Vice President spoke to the pool for around 13 minutes.

On whether Lebanon is included in ceasefire deal: “I think the Iranians thought that the ceasefire included Lebanon, and it just didn't we never made that promise.”

He said Israel has offered to “check themselves” in Lebanon “Because they want to make sure our negotiation is successful.”

On Hormuz, he said the US has seen signs that it is “Starting to reopen”

He didn’t say whether the administration would be willing to see Iran continue enriching uranium for civilian purposes but said, “The more that they're willing to give us, I think the more they're going to get things out of this negotiation.”

Toward the end he addressed a recent message by the speaker of Iran’s parliament regarding alleged violations of the ceasefire agreement.

“If he's frustrated about three issues, that actually means that there's a lot of agreement.” He also questioned whether Ghalibaf had misunderstood elements.

“I actually wonder how good he is at understanding English, because there are things that he said that, frankly, didn't make sense” in the context of the negotiations.
