POTUS began speaking at 7:50 p.m.

His remarks were live-streamed. As a note, he did speak about Iran at the top and noting that the Iranians still have offensive weapons.

He wrapped up his speech at 8:55 pm.— and then went into a q&a session.

He said that generals often tell him Gen Robert E Lee was the best general because he lengthened the war, which was supposed to be quick. POTUS called it “a horrible time.”

During his speech POTUS referenced last Saturday’s assassination attempt, saying “Saturday night was good for one thing — they love my ballroom now. They love my ballroom.”

POTUS is running behind schedule and the dinner service had been cleared by the time potus began speaking. Half empty wine glasses and water glasses were on the tables.
