Trump sat to the left of el-Sisi. Sitting to the left of Trump (in order) were Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce secretary Howard Lutnick, chief of staff Susie Wiles, Trade representative Jamieson Geer, Dan Scavino, NEC head Kevin Hassett.

Trump opened the meeting with el-Sisi by saying that he was helping the Egyptian president "with a little dam project." Trump said the two leaders would be discussing trade and the Nile “because the Nile is getting a little emptier than it should be."

Trump said a dam was built in Ethiopia and "it's causing more problems than it should be."

El-Sisi then spoke through an interpreter, giving Trump a “big congratulations for the breakthrough you’ve reached Mr. President restoring peace."

"Once the deal was announced, there has been great appreciation and the admiration has increased," el-Sisi said. He added Trump had "marvelous management" of this crisis.

The Egyptian president said he was waiting for the MOU to be a final deal so he can respond "appropriately." He also referred to Trump's popularity at last night's dinner.

"I observed during the dinner last night that you were surrounded, Mr. President, by all the world leaders. They didn’t leave you for a moment to enjoy your dinner."

Trump then spoke again: "Most people seem to be really happy and who’s really happy is the market."

As he spoke about the market, Howard Lutnick and Susie Wiles nodded their heads in agreement.
