VP Pool report #4 pre-program

A prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem started the pre-program focused on fraud.

Rep. Tom Tiffany, who is vying for the governor’s seat in Wisconsin, spoke first. “We need the other side to stop turning a blind eye to this fraud that's going on in Wisconsin,” he said. “As the next governor of Wisconsin we’re going to audit all of state government,” Tiffany said. “As the next governor of Wisconsin, we’re going to audit all of state government, we're going to audit those food stamp rolls, we're going to audit the Medicaid program, we're going to make sure that you, the taxpayers, are protected and you're not being ripped off, and I can tell you the fraud, the amount of fraud that we will allow in Wisconsin is zero.”

Wisconsin State Senator Julian Bradly spoke, who said they know the difference between a hand up and “somebody who wants to put their hand in our pockets.” He calls for continuing to audit and identifying waste, fraud and abuse. “We’re not going to allow Wisconsin to become Minnesota.”

Wisconsin state assemblyman Tyler August took the stage, and touted anti-fraud efforts.

Congressman Van Orden took the stage next. “This is personal to me,” he said, talking about snap benefit data, “Why won't Evers turn over the snap rolls? Because he's cooking the books.”

Congressman Bryan Steil spoke next. “Democrats will measure the success of a program by how much money is spent. As conservatives we know we measure the success of the program by how many people it actually helps.” He also talked about the “Save Act.” “It is absolutely nuts that we protect our beer more than our ballots in jurisdictions across this country.”
