WH travel pool report 2 — M1 arrival

Marine 1 set down on the taxiway at Andrews at 1410. The helicopter rolled to a stop about 50 yards ahead of AF1 and the president emerged at 1414.

He ignored the press pool waiting just ahead of the wing, climbed the steps, pumped his fist and stepped aboard at 1416.

We are flying the 747-8 that the president solicited from the Qatari royal family, that he intends to take with him when he leaves office and which appears to lack at least some of the anti-missile defenses that the standard AF1 747s were built with.

We should be wheels up shortly.
