Presidential adviser Maddas Boulos also commented on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria during his gaggle with the press, in an exchange I missed. Here is what he said:

“I think President Trump has been really expressing his view on this, and we've done extremely well, meaning the cooperation between the United States and Nigeria. We've done extremely well on fighting ISIS and fighting other terrorist organizations, Boko Haram and several others. We've had huge success, as you have seen recently, and our task force – joint task force – is working together very well. There's ongoing coordination. Africom has done a great job, and President Trump has been championing those religious freedom causes, including persecuted Christians across the world, including Nigeria and many other parts of the world, and he couldn't have expressed it any better. So we shall continue to provide support to the Nigerian institutions in fighting terrorism and fighting these terrorist organizations.”
