Travel note 3: POTUS arrives JBA / gaggle

Marine One was wheels down JBA as of 0944 ET, at which point it taxied to the customary spot to the immediate left of the aircraft’s nose.

POTUS disembarked the helicopter at 0948, returned salutes from the Marines and an Air Force greeter who accompanied him to the airstairs while they engaged in some conversation.

He then spoke to pool for just under two minutes, laying out that we were going to Dover to “honor” the fallen service members and suggesting that the fallen service members had all said Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.

He also claimed polling shows Americans are broadly in favor of the war when pool asked him how he would justify service members deaths to families given public polling showing the war is unpopular.

After he finished speaking, he returned salutes from the Air Force sentries and boarded Air Force One by front air stairs.
