In-town pool report #12 - POTUS enters

POTUS entered the ballroom at 7:16 p.m. to Hail to the Chef and greeted the board of the WHCA at the head table.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and entertainer Oz Pearlman are also at the head table.

There was then a presenting of the colors ceremony before a performance of the national anthem.

Shortly before POTUS took to the stage, an announcer told guests to find their seats and flashed overhead lights in the room.

The stage, themed around the color blue, is framed by two projector screens, both reading, “White House Correspondents’ Association.”

Behind the head table there are three signs, two reading “White House Correspondents’ Association,” and one reading, “Celebrating the First Amendment.”

The podium is ready with the presidential seal and teleprompters.

The head table has another “White House Correspondents’ Association” sign in front of it, golden table skirts, and flowers, with six American flags behind it.

Round tables fill the room with macaroon dessert centrepieces on white table cloths, in addition to set down meals and drinks.

Wait staff waited by the wings of the stage.

Guests mingled, took photographs, and filmed pieces to camera on their phones.
