Travel pool #9 - garage tour

After the drag race, POTUS’ motorcade arrived at a separate area of the GM proving grounds for a garage tour at 2:16pm ET.

At 2:20pm ET, the president walked into the garage and was shown a variety of vehicles by GM executives.

Your pooler could not hear what they were discussing.

At one point, POTUS grabbed a pen and signed the hood of a white Corvette that was made specifically for America 250.

The president also got inside the back seat of a metallic blue Cadillac Celestiq to check it out.

POTUS did not gaggle but he did face pool reporters to say: “It’s amazing what tariffs will do for General Motors… They’re having the best year they have ever had.”

He added: “The rest of the world doesn’t love me but that’s ok… It’s called America first.”

The pool was rushed out of the garage while POTUS kept looking at cars as of 2:31 pm ET.

The president is now expected to address hundreds of people at a GM facility a few feet from the garage.

His remarks will be live streamed in all the usual places.
