After Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent earlier declined to stop by the sticks after a TV hit, National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett agreed to gaggle after his own TV appearance. He put a positive spin on today's lower than expected second quarter economic growth figure of 1.5% and downplayed the impact on inflation of the recent rise in oil and gas prices after renewed hostilities in the Iran war.
