WH pool report 1 - checking in

Good morning from the White House on an August day that feels like an August day in DC.

The president has nothing open to the pool or the public until this afternoon, when he is appearing at the State Department for a mining roundtable.

Pool has asked what, exactly, he is doing in the three-hour block of "executive time" between 0800 and 1100 as stated in today's guidance.

(In the past when pool has asked what "executive time" means, the press office has responded: "executive time means executive time.")

For those interested, as of five minutes ago, there was no Marine sentry outside the West Wing door, suggesting that at least so far, today's "executive time" is happening in the residence.

Will advise if pool is summoned for some reason.
