Out-of-town pool report 4: Trump speaking

The president entered at 3:07pm, shortly after Secretary Howard Lutnick, Marco Rubio and Doug Burgum. There are a host of other participants also seated at a 15-person long table, including representatives from mining schools.

Trump began speaking at 3:08pm and said he would be announcing investments in mining. He complimented Rubio on the building and said he might take some things for the White House.

The event is in the State Department’s Benjamin Franklin State Dining Room, one of the diplomatic reception rooms. There’s a large audience seated, and we’re about 13 rows back.
