Out-of-town pool report 6: State Department roundtable wraps

The roundtable wrapped at 3:43pm. The pool was ushered out to get in vans as the audience was applauding.

Rubio, Burgum and Lutnick spoke about various mining initiatives from their departments. At one point, the president showed Rubio a piece of paper on the table and made a face, but we couldn't discern what was on the note from where we were.

The participants from the mining schools thanked the president for the investment and said it will allow more miners to complete their programs.

To applause, participant Pratt Rogers, associate professor and chair of University of Utah’s Mining Engineering Department, joked to the president, “Thank you for your attention to this matter,” echoing the president’s typical social media refrain.
