WH out-of-town pool report #11 Trump interview

President Trump took the center stage at 6:27 pm ET to take part in a brief interview with ESPN/ABC that aired inside the venue.

“No. 1, I love Ohio, I really love it,” Trump said.

Trump said the athletes are doing “fantastically well,” and — when asked about America’s 250 celebration — touted the upcoming Indy race in DC, the UFC fight at the White House and the July 4 fireworks celebration.

“This is something very exciting, I’m looking forward to watching the finals. This has been as exciting as everything, I didn’t know what to expect,” Trump said of the Patriot Games.

Trump was asked which NFL teams he believes could do well this year.

He mentioned the Patriots and Giants, adding that he likes their quarterback, referring to Jaxson Dart. He also said the Rams.

Many in the crowd seemed to be urging Trump to say the Cleveland Browns, but he did not.

“I better not get into this much. I’m going to get myself in trouble if I do,” Trump said.

I’m not sure when the short interview will air. ABC is airing a recap of the Patriot Games on Thursday night at 9 pm ET.
