The president and first lady entered the Rose Garden at 3:48 pm.
"Good afternoon. I heard you missed me," first lady Melania Trump said in her opening remarks, as she welcome attendees to the White House.
Seating is set up for about 200 people (based on a chair count).
Attendees include Kevin Hasset, Doug Burgum, Jarrod Agen and Markwayne Mullin.
Soft jazz played in the lead up. A lighter touch to the 88 degree heat and intense humidity.
