Vance began by introducing Republican officeholders and candidates in the crowd, including gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, his former classmate and longtime friend. The vice president’s remarks stayed mostly focused on his economic message, beginning with impacts of the opioid crisis on America’s, Ohio’s and Middletown’s economies.

The crowd applauded when he addressed them as “my fellow Americans, my fellow Ohioans, my fellow Middletonians.”

He left the stage at 1:40 PM local time.
