Out-of-town pool report #4 - medal recipients / remarks coming

Trump spoke to each of the medal recipients in turn. It was hard to hear the conversations although Trump did say he liked the Stars and Stripes socks of one veteran in a wheelchair.

Trump then posed for pictures with them, standing behind them with thumbs up and a grin.

“Good music,” he said as “You’ll never walk alone” played over the sound system.

Trump then said “You’re strong. Strong as hell” and talked about an inaudible number of “trillion” in investment. It wasn’t clear what investment he meant. Will try to get a full quote.

He briefly paused to say hello to what he called his media “friends” while being shown a display unit featuring a US flag, and then quickly moved on.

Trump then posed for pictures with a group of younger Medal of Honor recipients in front of a mural which included a picture of Trump himself presenting a medal.

Pool has now been moved to an auditorium where Trump is due to give remarks. There’s a POTUS podium on a stage with a blue backdrop saying ‘National Medal of Honor Museum’.
