Out-of-town pool report #6 - signing and remarks end

President Trump signed legislation to establish the National Medal of Honor Monument in Washington DC. House Speaker Mike Johnson was among those on stage for the signing.

Museum chairman Charlotte Jones then announced that Trump had agreed to become a museum director — and presented him with the museums “Champion of Honor” award.

Trump had earlier repeated what he said was his “joke” about wanting to award himself the Medal of Honor, accusing the media of failing to say that he was joking. “I’m only kidding. Actually I’m not kidding,” he added.

Trump earlier praised Jones’s “great genetics, great blood. I’m a big blood person”

Trump had more unflattering comments for Ken Paxton, following last night’s: “I said, I'm not sure if I like your look. I'm not sure if I like the way you dress. I don't like the way you talk. But you're the greatest attorney general, so therefore, that's the only thing that matters.”

He also returned to last night’s crowd size, saying he’d initially wanted to hold the midterm convention in the Cowboys’s stadium

“I would have used the stadium, but I was a little bit concerned about filling that one up. The one last night, we packed it. That was packed, and we'll be back a lot.”
