Vice President JD Vance took to the stage at 8.25pm to the strains of “Long Cool Woman” by The Hollies, big cheers and a light show.
He said “Hello Dallas!”
Chants of “JD” and then he said “it’s quite cool to hear people so fired up chanting your name so do it again,” and they did.
After a brief opening he then talked about Charlie Kirk.
Speech is being carried live in the usual places but will provide color and any highlights.
No sign of POTUS at this stage
