Your pooler regrets the typo in pool report #8. The president was indeed gaggling and not “gagging.” At any rate, here are the fuller quotes from the less than 5-minute gaggle with the press:

On Ohio visit:

“We have a tremendous crowd of people. I won Ohio three times. He got the highest vote in the history of the state. I like it very much. I love the people of Ohio, and we're going to spend a little time. And I hope you enjoy it.”

On any regrets in his first two years:

“No, I love it. I think it's been a great. I think it's the most productive two years. They say anybody of anybody in the history of the presidency, I think it's the most consequential two years of anybody in the presidency, and I only base that on the record. If you look at the record, if you look at what we've done, I think it's the most consequential presidency so far, and we're going to try and keep it that way.”

On Iran war:

“We have a decision that I'll make about Iran. Iran's been decimated, so the only question is, it'll either be the easy way or the hard way. We'll have it the easy way or the hard way.”

On whether cost of living is weakness for GOP:

“Yeah, I inherited high cost from from the Democrats or the Democrats as I go because their policy is so bad. But we inherited a lot, and we've gotten the prices down. Oil is coming down. Oil is right now lower, and it's been lower than it was under the Biden administration, and they did nothing about the fact that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. By the way, Iran, as you know, is virtually giving up any plans of a nuclear weapon.”

On Senator Tom Cotton and Daylight Savings Time:

“We want to get away from this ridiculous way and custom of every twice a year turning your clocks back, turning your clocks forward, being late for dinner, being late for very important meetings. It's ridiculous, and if you look at the public, they agree that's a 100% issue. 65% I'll give you an example. Right now we're sitting out here. It's light. It's nice. If you come down here in in another three weeks, it'll be dark. It'll be who wants it? We want our sunlight in the afternoon. But more importantly than that, we don't want to change clocks twice a year. It's very expensive. It's got many problems, even crime. As crazy as it sounds, when you have light, you have you have much less crime. So the House voted it more than 80 percent. It's been sitting up there, and hopefully we can get Tom Cotton to move.”

“Tom Cotton is holding it. He shouldn't be holding it. It's an issue that people want. We had it a long time ago, but they used it for other purposes to get something else approved, and they gave it up. But people want to have light in the evening. But really, what they want more than that, more than that by a lot, they don't want to have to go around changing clocks. I have the same thing. Last time, six months ago, we're changing clocks, and nobody changes clocks, and everybody's late. It takes people. It discombobulates everybody, and so we can finally have a vote. We have the vote in the house. Mike Johnson did a great job. Now we'd like to have the vote in the Senate. Tom Cotton is holding it up. You don't want it. The farmers want it. You don't want it. Sports want it. Professional sports and amateurs that would like to play tennis at night would like to play golf a little bit without having to run home after 14 holes-it's ridiculous. It's very expensive to do. It's not a good thing.

People don't want to have to change their clocks twice a year. It's a lot of work for a lot of people. They're running around for two days changing all the clocks in their house. So it's an easy win, and I'm not even talking about for the Republican Senate, for the Senate, because it's a very bipartisan issue. And Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas, a state that I won by 35 or 40 points, I know by a lot. He's got to do it because it's it's really it would be a very nice win. win for the United States Senate and for the people. Have a good time, everybody.”
