POTUS left the airbase as shouting a few lines at your pool that we couldn’t make out, but seemed to be along the lines of “Big Rally.” Drive in was unremarkable; a smattering of protestors.
As the motorcade drove down I-94, one protester was standing outside of her car directly next to the police roadblock on set up on the northbound entry ramp from Gratiot Ave. The woman was waving a handmade, poster board sign referring to President Trump as a “TRAITOR” and “RAPIST”.
But as we got into Port Huron there were many Trump supporters, some holding signs, some cheering. Many families looked like they just came out to see the motorcade itself, an unusual sight here. Only when we got to the venue - what looks like a hockey facility — were there large numbers of protestors across the street. A good number of “El-Sayed” signs.
POTUS arrived at 2:45 pm. We are now inside the facility, which is full, but looks like it can only hold a a crowds of a few thousand.
Additional note: Port Huron is a border town, and as Air Force One was coming in for a landing a number of us got messages from our cell phone providers that said: “Welcome to Canada.”
At 3:05 pm we are still awaiting the start of the rally, which should be live-streamed.
