Vance spoke after the crowd chanted "JD! JD!"

He opened joking that his young son recently told him that Michigan was the "M-word" and shouldn't be said, in apparent reference to his Ohio roots.

Vance spoke about the decline of manufacturing in Michigan and Ohio due to what he described as indifferent political leaders.

"It was not just Democrats. It was everybody," he said, adding to applause that President Trump was elected on a pledge that "we are going to put America first for a change."

The crowd applauded for new tax cuts, Vance's anti-fraud task force, Trump’s drug price efforts and restrictions on corporate ownership of homes.

He gave shout-outs to John James and Mike Rogers, praising Rogers for dealing with "bullshit" in a recent interview with Kristen Welker.

Vance said it was "insane" that Abdul El-Sayed referred to himself as an Egyptian immigrant and said the Democratic Senate candidate would kill the auto industry with environmental policies.

El-Sayed "was so ashamed of this state that he would lie about being an immigrant," Vance said.

He said that if recent rioting in France spread to Detroit, El-Sayed would be "right there and cheering them on."

Vance said that gas prices are high due to "tinpot dictators" and Democratic fossil fuel policies of the past that restricted American production.

He said Rogers wouldn't be a "servant" of the Trump administration and that El-Sayed wouldn't be independent of Chuck Schumer.

Vance finished at 1:50.
