Motorcade returned to the White House at 3:07 a.m. after an uneventful drive. Pool did not see POTUS enter the residence. The White House called a lid at 3:07. President Trump had a lengthy call during the flight back to DC with President Zelensky of Ukraine, press secretary Karoline Leavitt told the pool. President Trump is currently on the phone with NATO leaders, Leavitt told the pool. Air Force One is wheels up from Anchorage at 4:21 p.m. local time. It's a roughly six hour flight back to JBA. Trump started speaking at 3:02 p.m. "I believe we had a very productive meeting," Trump said. "There's no deal until there's a deal." As Putin spoke, Trump mostly looked straight ahead and kept a straight face, only glancing at Putin a few times, including when Putin referenced the previous US administration. Trump and Putin walked on stage at 2:53 p.m. and stood behind their respective lecterns. Putin spoke first. The event is being live-streamed on the White House website, C-SPAN and the other usual places. There are two lecterns on the stage and a backdrop that says “Pursuing Peace.” On either side of the stage there are Russian and American flags. Pool is holding in a tent adjacent to the room where the joint press conference is set to take place. That room features two podiums, two sets of Russian and American flags and a blue backdrop that says "Pursuing Peace." Pool is not expecting additional movements before the press conference, but will send updates if there are any changes. Your pooler has also been told it was just POTUS and Putin riding in the Beast…
Pool entered a room where Trump and Putin were sitting at 11:26. The two leaders sat silently with their respective delegations seated to the side. They were seated in front of a blue backdrop that had the words "Pursuing Peace" printed on it. "Thank you very much. Thank you," President Trump said. President Trump and President Putin each deplaned at 11:08 local time. The two leaders walked down the red carpets that had been rolled up to their respective planes and met where the carpets came to a T, with Trump arriving to the spot first and clapping as Putin approached. They shook hands, appeared to exchange greetings, then proceeded side-by-side to the riser, which is positioned about 50 feet from the pool. T…
